Without goals,

it’s easy to wander aimlessly, getting sidetracked with any inspiring new thing that comes along.

more than goals. even with goals, it is easy to get sidetracked. The question is why? clarifying the internal things that continually pull one off track is a step and working through these things is another. It is possibly even more important than the goals themselves. Possibly.

You’ve put your finger right on the ‘buzzer’ itself. That why I always ask ‘why’ and help my clients dig back to their original Vision. If they cannot describe the Vision, then any bright shiny object that comes along snags attention, makes people’s emotions hum, and pulls people off track. So first the Vision, then the Goals for achieving it, each need to feel compelling and important so that people can ignore what tries to divert their attention.
